I Have Memories I Can Never Forget

As summertime draws to an end my most special memory of summer 2016 is laying on a huge boulder next to a small waterfall in a state park while a person high above me on a rock outcropping on the opposite side of the river played a didgeridoo and a small (bongo?) drum. The primal music mixed with the sounds of the water, the birdsong and the summer cicadas took me completely out of my body. The air around the sun filtering through the trees and high clouds seemed to ripple and shimmer. I was vaguely aware of the occasional hiker and dog walker on the trail above me but they seemed like ghosts. Or maybe more likely I was the ghost. It was as sublime a feeling as I've ever had in my life. I wanted to wait around and meet this person to let them know the effect they had on me that afternoon but in the end I decided not to impose myself. And sometimes leaving things to mystery makes it even more special. As I walked back to my car my legs felt wobbly and strange, like I still wasn't fully inside my body.

Very true (leaving things a mystery). I am so happy that you experienced this! It is truly rare and magical. (hugs you)

Nature can do that. It's happened to me before. It's rather magical.

Wow! Out of body experience?

Did you know the dideridoo player or did that person just happen to be there.

When I got there he/she (not sure, just far enough away and just androgynous enough not to be able to tell) was meditating in the lotus position. I thought twice about stopping there because I didn't want to be a disturbance to him/her.
