I Want to Be Positive About Life

These days it’s harder.

I am SO f-cking sick and tired of politics. I hate it. It ruins everything. I’m tired of being angry so much of the time. I’m tired of having to worry about what terrible thing will happen next.

I’m tired of trying to talk sense into people who just won’t budge. So then I stop that, and I get bitchy and sarcastic instead. I do it to relieve stress, but the truth is, that doesn’t really help. It’s a negative way to think, and thinking negatively will make you feel terrible after a while.

I want some good things to think about. I wish I could know for sure that something really good is in my future. Then I’d have something to look forward to, and that would make all the difference.

I wish I could take a break from the world as it is now, and take a time-travel vacation to a time and place when people were feeling good and having fun.
The best way to feel good rn is to stop watching things that depress you.

I've vowed to stop watching Dateline and other murder mysteries on TV this year. Coz it used to intstil fear in my mind....and doubt and suspicion. And I'm glad I stopped watching them shows...I can see myself much more relaxed and happy now.

@Vivaci I went into my FB account and snoozed all the political and news stuff for 30 days.

I’ve done that before a couple of times. Maybe it’s time to make that permanent and just totally re-do my FB account.

You would think by my age I would have learned the secrets of life, but it doesn't work that way. Instead however I have learned the secret to survival.

1. To lower blood pressure, TURN OFF network news, in fact if you can handle it turn off the TV completely.

2. Don't read political post on social media.

3. Don't fret over things NOT in your control. Wars, politics, devastation have been going on for centuries and will still be around when we are long gone.

4. Take deep breaths, get out and enjoy life and celebrate another day vertical, you don't know how many of those are left, it is a shame to waste those on things we have no effect on.

That is it, no secret handshake required.

I know what you mean. I haven’t time traveled, but I’ve removed myself from this society as much as I can. I don’t want to go back. It’s lonely, but it’s better than dealing with all the modern day 💩 that would have me walking on eggshells.

We all need something good to look forward to, or we just tread water. I haven’t found it yet. 🤗💐

Did you say you were retired? That helps too. You can get away from all the politics and PC insanity. @SageWanderer

@Carissimi Yes, I am retired so that means 40-48 hours a week less that I would have to deal with it.

There you go. We are the lucky ones, escaping it for most of the week. That’s one upside of being older. 😊 @SageWanderer

I am so glad to be retired so I don't have to listen to it. And negative thinking does bring you down too. All I know is if I can get to April 1st then the RV comes out of storage and sensory deprivation starts. Even when the weather turns bad I have met very few unhappy campers!

🤗 And I wish happiness begins to follow you!

That's why I stopped trying to talk to people about my concerns, the only thing that matters now a days is what side of the fence your on.
