I Want to Be Positive About Life

It's important to stay positive, despite how things may be going. Once you fall into the hole of depression, it's nearly impossible to pull yourself out.

You see a key that most people won't
You can control what you think and there by you're mood
My body is shot ,,but I refuse to let my mind rob me of what I have left
and I still have a lot to give .
To many people entertain the negative thoughts
and when I was told I would be in a wheel chair by the time I was 45
I had a long pity party (I am 60 now and still not in that chair ,I think my willingness to fight and God still enables me )
It cost me a good woman ,,hell a lot of things I did cost me a good woman
But thats when I was healed of my addiction
I wanted to kill myself ,,but someone stopped me
I have been through another painful break up since and lost it all again
I found out my kids knew it was coming and they didn't warn me ,maybe I could have changed things had I known
My first wife was so scared of me she hid my kids from me for 12 years ,I found them and won custody of them in 1995
For the last few years I spend 5 days a week by myself
disabled ,in pain but I can still walk
(I recently bought a home with my daughter so that is about to change )
My son is home on the weekends ,,the product of another broken relationship
but he is an awesome little boy
My younger brother killed himself a few years ago ,the same month I lost my best friend to cancer
The last member of my band except me also died of cancer ,both of them went quick
So when I hear people cry like its something they have absolutely no control over
I get a little angry with them ,,but I also get sad
They don't have the key you and I have found
(I am assuming it also works for you )
You have to control what you allow yourself to think
If you entertain negative thoughts ,,they will finally overwhelm you
and soon you can't fight them
I am thankful people have saved me ,several times
All that I would have missed out on ,,had I lost my battle

Definitely well said. However, if all else fails, don't hesitate to reach out for help. Some people do have chemical imbalances that can be corrected/managed. Even using spiritual help is awesome. Sometimes, though, God's answer might lead to a doctor. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Well put ... The way we look at things ... either positive or negative ... has the most profound affect on our daily lives ... we’ve all ‘heard glass half full or glass half empty’ ... I prefer to be that glass half full guy ... I guess sometimes that makes me naive ... but that’s ok too ...

That is a very deep hole so I agree.
