I Dont Like Small Talk

greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
I feel like I need to speak up in defense of small talk.

Sometimes it is easier for people to get to know each other less intensely and more slowly. Sometimes people, especially shy people, need that. Small talk is a way to hear someone's voice, see their facial expressions, and experience their presence without having too much intimacy right away. Some people get to know people that way. For some, revealing too much makes them feel vulnerable. Small talk has its uses if both people know it is not all there is to human communication; prolonged small talk is boring.

My sister has passed on, we never got along that bothers me… I have more scares in my mind from war than I have on my neck.. The sweet lady in the frame that is in the picture I sent you is my favorite aunt, I could tell you what she as been through all he life.. And I did spend most of my summers at my Grand Mothers.. Give me your number and I will call you right now. My Dad worked a mans job when he was 12 at a lumber mill never had a child hood… I do talk about the weather,, I’m guilty..

BTW I did tell u about my tree…

Nor do I. I want to tell you about me, and I want to know about you. I have been told that I ask a lot of questions. It's true I do, because I want to know about the person. I want people to ask me questions, and I have told people that they can ask me anything.

@Missing: I am not surprised. We that don't care for small talk want to talk about something of substance. Many do not like transparency, it scares them.
Well I'm not a "small talk" person. I think I've demonstrated that to you.
