So...serious question ...please keep scrolling if you are easily offended [I Dont Like Small Talk]

I wonder how I am or anyone for that matter can trust or believe anything written in the bible when it was written by the hands of man ...humans hearts are wicked and lie by it's very nature . How can anyone trust it ? It's not as if God himself wrote these words. I am not asking this to ruffle any feathers ,I am just looking for insight .Just trying to make sense of things that make no sense to me.

Your instincts are correct, you can't. It's just a book written by religious zealots. It has common sense as well as bizarre nonsense in it.

@FreeSpirit1 it is full of contradictions in it .Love everyone except don't love everyone..it's confusing...forgive all sins except these kinds that I consider unforgivable..but forgive everyone who does wrong by you? Um ok?

@SW-User Lots of contradictions.

@SW-User It is confusing book for black and white thinkers so don't think all or nothing when reading it, it is simple and very complex at the same time but if you study it there are no contradictions. You just said you are confused about sertain things, like most books you have to read it all and study carefully to know what God meant. A kindrgarderners understands a little before they have spiritual maturity. We dont have to understand it all at once, Gods brain is much bigger than ours, and we wont understand God completely until we are in heaven.

Men wrote the Bible, unless they took dictation from a God? it's just a book written by religious zealots to convince others to follow their word.
Carazaa · F
@FreeSpirit1 Why don't you read it and then we can talk. It is accurate and the most respected and most read book in the world. If you haven't read it all and studied it carefully then I can tell you have no idea about the Bible and talking from ignorance.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@Carazaa why do you assume I haven't? I was a catholic for 16 years and went to catholic school for 8, we had religious studies and I took them and am well versed in the bible.
My opinion is, the best way to dismiss the bible is to read it.

@FreeSpirit1 Most catholics listen to teachers and priests, not reading intelligently the Bible. This is the reason I am against the Catholic church. They change the Bible, come up with nonsense that is not in the Bible. And then I hear nightmares about their schools. I taught at a christianschool and it was such a loving happy place to work. We did musicals that were televised and acted out Bible stories. Jesus is all about loving and caring for little children. I feel sad that the Catholic church did that to you!
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@Carazaa The catholic church didnt abuse me. But it did teach me the bible, which is how I came to the conclusion it's just a book. If it means more to you then be happy and follow it.
Carazaa · F
@FreeSpirit1 I doubt very much that it taught you the Bible in word, or deed. It is so sad that it turned you against a loving God who visited us because he loves us.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@Carazaa believe what you like, just dont assume you have some elevated knowledge.
They call it faith for a reason.
Carazaa · F
@FreeSpirit1 We can all believe what we want to believe but it is foolish to ignore all the people who know God, and dismiss the most respected book ever, The Holy Bible, a book that most people who study it know to be Gods' word!
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@Carazaa Its not foolish to use common sense. It's not foolish to have faith. You do you.

That's because it's just a collection of myths from various disparate sources.

You obviously haven't read it or, if you have, you don't understand it. It's full of factual inaccuracies and contradictions.
Carazaa · F
@Lynda70 No you are not correct.
Lynda70 · F
@Carazaa You're wrong about that. I spent a lot of time studying the bible so I know I am correct. The evidence is clear to anyone who care to check and supports what I say. By denying it, you only confirm thaat you either haven't read it or you don't understand it.
