But I do actually believe in the scientific term meme. Or as they have been called in some places, mental parasites. Which are thoughts that take on characteristics of a living organism but live in the mind and influence the host in ways that help the thought to spread to other individuals. Thoughts that find a way to spread are selected for and spread more easily than thoughts that are detrimental. Thus they also evolve over time like a living organism.
It's my version of people being possessed.
