I Am Against the Death Penalty

Here is a big part of the reason why. No system is perfect. Nowhere
Nova Scotia man who spent 17 years in jail has been acquitted

I agree. Until there's a way to be positively certain, while you can never repay someone who lost 17 yrs of their life - you can't reinburse any part of dead.

Well Canada does not have the death penalty . 17 years is a long time for a crime he did not comment and some have been in jail longer and what about the people they have killed and turns out at the end they did not do the crime after all,

@updown2020 like Milgaard

@Axeroberts yes and |I just saw that on the news he is getting a retrial.

Agree .... it's like punishing someone who committed premeditated murder by committing premeditated murder.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Heartlander I feel it is also immoral

Yep. The US is about the only Western nation that employs it. It does not make us any safer.
That’s what I keep coming back to. As horrible as that experience was, the state can give him back his freedom and possibly some financial redress. They would not have been able to give him back his life, had they executed him and been wrong.

In the U.S., we know we’ve executed innocent people. DNA exonerations have proven it. You’re so right, that the system isn’t perfect. So no possibly innocent lives should be risked.
I agree!
we have been wrong WAAYto often

and those that confess? and say kill me?
they should Live Long and Suffer. not get what they seek

I believe that the death penalty is overall more moral and wise.

@PrivatePeeks I'm sure this guy would disagree with you
