I Am a Fan of Rufus Wainwright
this was so dear, but somewhat too close for me, emotionally. One likely I have to admit, I was tired for one and my life is not where I want it at (I've somewhat learned to live with that)
Tonight, I spent the evening with my friend Beau, whose going through a divorce as we visited tonight. We saw Rufus Wainwright tonight together, and I didn't know if it was myself trying to hold myself together, or just that I was just tired and I don't like crying in crowds. Rufus, then, chose to perform 'So Long, Marianne' by Leonard Cohen which is the song I met my last partner too. The day, where I was helping a different friend, feeling open emotionally, and I strayed from that friend for a moment to walk into a clothing store where 'So Long, Marianne' was playing and I just sang to my hearts beauty to Cohen's version.
And so the song to my introduction to my last love of ten years played at me sung by someone I saw perform three times with her who is dear to me.
