Yea, it depends for me. I can sleep sometimes if a tv is on or my computer if the person on it isn't yelling and speaks in a monotone way like some sports broadcasters or radio voices do. Usually though light and noise bothers me, especially TVs in other rooms some reason even if it's echoing through a closed door.
