I Want to Lose Weight

I *Have* Lost Weight

My baseline weight measurement is, "the day I enlisted."

I currently weigh two pounds less than I weighed on the day I enlisted. This is a good thing.

Without going into specifics, we'll say that [reasons] led to weight gain that I was never happy about. Three years of increasingly sedentary lifestyle and poor diet will do that. And I committed to doing something about it 13 months ago. Along the way, I've dropped over 30 pounds. I'm getting tired of the expense involved with leading a healthier lifestyle again, though. I could give two squirts of piss about the gym fees, what I spent on a bike, or what I spend feeding myself, but dropping the coin to replace so much of my wardrobe has been brutal. Especially the work stuff - it's hard to justify that kind of money on a pair of pants that may fit horribly in six weeks. I'm just glad I haven't had a need for a suit or suits.๐Ÿ˜† Date nights were kind of pricey there for a minute too - obviously there's a whole "dress for the occasion" thing there.

Call me shallow, but I do like to look nice. One of the positive side effects of reverting to a healthier lifestyle is that I look better. Looking better makes me feel better, more confident, blah blah blah basic human psychology. And while it's fine to sit around at home in a pair of jeans that are just laughably too big, I'm not super into going out like that. Plus, it's super rad when one of your coworkers randomly comments on the more weight you've lost, or the friend you're meeting compliments how good you look, and that tends to happen more frequently when you're not dressed in something that fits like a garbage bag.

Bright side: I finally found a shop in town that consistently has the cuts of jeans I want, in the size I wear now and the next logical size/s to buy.

No before and after pics, no detailed story for the sake of inspiring others, just me finding a way to whinge about achieving my weight loss goals.

You want someone to help keep you honest, be your fitness pal or whatever, I'll be your guy, but that's about all I'm good for.
