I’m so sorry to hear that. This is why I hate cars. You gave him a great life, but you also can’t let him suffer in pain, unless the vet could do something to fix him?

I'm really sorry.
I just had to euthanize the dog I'd had forever, but it was something long-expected, not the kind of shock you have had.
Knowing that you are doing right by your friend will give you the strength.

He'll pass knowing you as his faithful companion. Provider, and protector, and one true friend. And to whom you owed nothing. Grateful for the time you had together, until the very end. It is in your arms he chose to be, despite his pain.

Know that I am praying for you now. Along with many others here. For the grace and strength to say goodbye, and rightfully honor him in death.
