I Went Barefoot To School

What an interesting question Katie. It may well have been interesting to show up to school in bare feet. I'm not sure it would have been allowed when I was at school. It does seem interesting that girls can in effect be barefoot at school in that they sometimes don't have socks or tights on if shoes. Perhaps it's cultural that in South Africa or New Zealand boys would be able to but not necessarily in the UK.

In the summer I often attended school barefooted.Us girls did not have to wear a school uniform and in my teens at school I often wore shorts with my feet bare at school.

One of my daughters, now in her 40's, goes barefoot most of the time. Unless nesasary she rarely wears shoes. Simple sandles when she has to. As I've said before both of my girls wore little or nothing while growing up at home.

I would have LOVED to have gone to school barefoot. Very strictly prohibited here. Plus, I went to private school during high school, and we had a formal dress code. The college handbook prohibited it, but so many of us wore flip-flops when it was warm, and those got kicked off all the time.

Our kids got to wear flip-flops to school. There were several times our son would get away in the morning walking to school, which he did barefoot all the time, only to discover that his flip-flops weren't in his backpack. I'd get a call from the school office, and I'd have to put clothes, on and bring them up there to him. Of course, I'd walk into the office barefoot, which he and I thought was funny.

I would definitely attend school and summer camps barefoot if i had the choice.

I began to going barefoot to my school as I was a teenager. The first time with ca. 13 or 14. Since I was 16 I went in the summer nearly always barefoot in the school.
