I Will Take As Many Words As I Want To Write This Story

-----Latte--- A Personal Blog

[c=#7700B2]We sat on the new rectangular short tables,

Bought for a store with cane chairs, also new.

Two wizened souls whose days of old shone like the sun above.

People stared.

Never cared.

He could weave a tale as easily as the spring sun could melt snow,

Pausing now and again to reflect ,perhaps on a secret

Known only to him and one best kept as such as his eyes glistened.

Patrons glared.

Never cared.

The Latte stood as much of a chance of staying hot as the cold brew

Had of staying cold. Nature weaving it spring magic so splendidly

Upon us as we told tales we had lovingly told before. The wind kissed us.

Smiles shared
.
Definitely cared.

A floral silk screened blouse and a pleated skirt, burgundy to match a mood.

A baseball cap and top button sport shirt. Relaxed moments at

Their best. He and her; seasoned warriors of a time long past.

Music blared.

Never cared.

Smiles abounded as the sun shone erasing the agony of winter as it warmed our hearts.

The same sun that could recall memories of a times long ago when the world

Was new and life was but an unwritten page; a blank easel waiting for it’s painter.

Youth laid bare.

Never cared.

We met as one and left the same,

Sharing sweet joys and devastating pain.

Memories, as a latte swirls,

For a well traveled man and this newfound girl.

A chance encounter?

A twist in time?

Never cared.

Fate is blind.[/c]

Wow! I love the refrains that alternated. The intensity built as well, plus the descriptive tones were beautifully weaved. I love.....

....and all while revolving around lattes.☕👌 So happy to see your words as always!💫
@SW-User Thank You. I was rather hoping you would love this!! I was sitting in my living room last night and this started to come together in my head. I was trying to browse for music on the PS4. That wasn't happening as this was meant to be wrote and I would have no peace UNTIL it wad! Inspiration always comes best to me late at night!

The alternating tempo, rhyming structure and rhyming itself was a challenge. It's melodic and yet it is not. If "never cared" was a central theme then I wouldn't-- well care--about how askew it may be.

Nice to see your comments as always. Glad you liked my tale of friendship and coffee.

@Elandra77 I'm glad you had your late night musings! It's tempo & theme made it a wonderful read.....
Sigh!!! Felt like I was there....

Truly well-written gem, yet again, Elandra!! 💕☺️
@Vivaci Thank You, dear lady! I believe I may have overused the word "sun" a bit too much but it is what it is. I am my own worst critic!

This is beautifully written. It reminds me of times I've shared with people I've met (or reconnected with) at our neighborhood coffee shop.
@TeresaRudolph71 Thank You. My coffee shop is my Cheers--where everybody knows my name. And yet, I usually sit alone at a table left to my own thoughts. I have seen the same at eateries over the years. They are great places for friend or families to meet. And yet, the coffee shop I always saw as a place for strangers, different and yet alike, to come together as one. A shared love of good coffee can be a great ice breaker!

Glad you read this!

@Elandra77 You're welcome. It must be nice to have a place like that to go to. I don't think any of the regulars at our neighborhood coffee shop know my name, but I usually just pass by, and only stop if I see someone I recognize, or if I just need a place to think by myself. I'm sure that can be a great ice breaker. :) I tend to like sweet beverages myself, but hot chocolate in the winter can be great too!

I'm glad I read this too. :)

I just love this. Such sweet enchanting romance with a hint of poignancy. 💜
@Magenta Thank You. I am glad you found this to be sweet. I told another this began writing itself in my head. I am to much of a artist and poet not to know when inspiration strikes and to take advantage of it.

@Elandra77 That's a very interesting book idea I hope he succeeds. It reminds me of [image deleted]
@Lostpoet He is a songwriter and has a knack for putting words down in way that could be a folk song. His goal was to write 'One Latte" a day until he had enough for a CD or a small book..

I own that book. I got it decades ago when it came out for $3 in paperback. (1979?) It's a very good read and insight into work and the live of others.

@Elandra77 I bought it years ago to on the Kindle. I was a little disappointed because I didn't realize that it was going to be set that far back in time but it was definitely interesting to read.

@BexEyes I rather like than line myself!

@Fungirlmmm Thank You. We met as strangers in the coffee shop we go to in Winter and became friends over time. I met his wife and learned of his issues and him mine. We are quite the odd couple but that is part of the charm for us.

A beatnik and a hippie talking of times long gone. HA! Perfect coffee shop talk!
