I Will Take As Many Words As I Want To Write This Story

In Twilight

[c=#BF0080]She walks in the twilight,
as a soulless hull of
the women she once was.

N'ere was a trig broken,
a footstep heard or a leaf
snapped underfoot.

She spoke not a word.
A sentient warrior, e'er
vigilant against the night.

I could follow her.
Let her lead me to the secret
places she goes unseen to all.

Flights of fancy, of
wild fantasy come true (n'ere to leave again!)
I saw in my dreams.

In dreams she was but as I, a lonely wondering
minstrel existing not for ourselves but rather
for the women we once were..

She would fade into night as day came.
No more than a wisp o' the wind
would remain of her. A secret only true seers saw!

I could follow her into whatever abyss
she'd lose herself into and love her, madly!
Yet those who did never returned. [/c]

Following into the unknown...sometimes is worth it.
@BexEyes True, The temptation of following an eternal mistress of the night, that dissipates at the first sigh of predawn, can be quite interesting.

She is an eternal mistress and yet content in her role.

I really like this, Elandra. It has an ethereal feel and beauty to it. I felt drawn to her. Thank you! 😊
@SW-User I was trying for that feeling. I had the image of that women in my head. The problem was getting her to poem.

Minstrels can be a but stubborn in that regard. Glad you read this. 😊

Beautiful work Elandra. It is very ethereal. 🤗
@ReneeT Thank You. Nice to see you reading me. Know you are always welcome. 🤗

i truly wanted Ethereal and yet I was a bit unsure when I was done. I was hoping the song would bring the essence of it a bit more real.

@Elandra77 it definitely did. And I love to read your stories.☺
@Elandra77 I understand. 🦋
@Elandra77 Read it again. I liked it. ✌️
@DarkHeaven I'm glad-and thanks.
Excellent work.
@PrivateHell *smiles* Thank You. I have wanted darker music for this. Gothic but not that deep into the genre but this song won out.
@Elandra77 I think the song works well.

A mistress slipping through the nights of unknown. I love it & your old world verbiage(sigh) fondly!
@SW-User A wandering soul, a being of time and space, a maiden existing for and of the night and the night alone. A lonesome traveler on night's highway of life and death. A soulless hull o' the women she once was and yet one that loves with more passion than when it was ever present!

OK-got kinda world there but I COULD have kept going. Why do you ALWAYS inspire me!!!

I knew the only way to make this work was to be old world about. To harken back to a day and time when fairies, sprites, magick, and maladies of the night-vampirism and werewolves WERE BELIEVED IN! So my inner Poe and Barrett I had to summon. The mix it with early Dylan.

Glad you read this!

@Elandra77 I love your ramblings as a rambler myself. I totally feel this one as a soul wanderer of night(that's no secret). You paid due justice to the greats of the olden time!!

This is exquisite, and the music you selected to accompany your piece is perfect.
@Rutterman Thank You. Glad you read this. I did have fun with this and yet I saw a solemn sadness to her, this maiden of the night that exists not as a harbinger of it but rather as a companion, leaving only when dew is forming.
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
That is beautiful because getting lost in love is amazing. Thank you for joining us.
@Fungirlmmm I'm glad you liked this. Love and fascination are best when there is aire of mystery.
