I have so many triggers! Even bad weather! Peanut products wheat, chocolate onions, the list is so long it would be easier to list what doesn't cause them.

one of my sisters had bad migraines and even more when she was pregnant, she'd start throwing up after breakfast. She later got tested for allergies and found to be allergic to eggs, even a teaspoon of mayo on a sandwich would trigger her migraines. Had a brother-in-law who was also allergic to eggs and would be sick all day long with headaches.
Aphrodite, I've been through things most would never believe.

Couchpotato and Callmehopeless: There is new research linking to taking those medications on a regular basis to dementia...yikes! I've only tried Benadryl one time and it paralyzed me till it wore off and I use natural stuff for colds.

The Chicken Masala I cooked last night was so spicy that it caused my congested sinuses to open up like Niagara Falls about 30 minutes after I finished eating...I was sneezing and blowing my nose for several hours but at least it melted the congestion.
It's really not technically an addictive medicine in the sense you are thinking. People can become dependent on it, but it doesn't cause withdrawals. You really just go back to not falling asleep like you were before.
It does affect the blood vessels in the brain which is why it helps migraines. I try to only take over the counter because migraine medication can cause sudden death for me. My only other option is the opiod pain relievers.

Callmehopeless: I had migraines and seizures as a child just about every day...got electrocuted when I was 4 years old and both stopped...I remember feeling really happen after that.
Aphrodite, Well I'm here and it makes me appreciate my friends even more! I'm especially lucky, because i lived, and i only have headaches from it.
I do pretty often. Benadryl is sometimes used to treat migraines. I do take things like Advil pm when i have migraines.
Patti: spicy foods do that to me as well.. if I'm not "sniffing" afterwards, it wasn't spicy enough!!

I take allergy meds everyday ,but not benedryl ,as it makes me too drowsy
the wife does all the time so she can sleep....i think she's becoming addicted :(
Wow I've only had chicken Marsala one time! I loved it
Mine started when i was 13 but became really bad during pregnancy. They tried me on all kinds of stuff and nothing at all worked. One day i had my carotid artery tear and because of it i can't take the medicine any more. It almost killed me, but i don't know if it was related to the migraines or not.
