Recently, I signed a petition about animal abuse (from PETA facebook) and I fill the form (on the web) my emails, my name and my phone number.
Fews days later, they kept calling me. I never answered it because the screen shows scammers (identified by truecaller apps).
They kept calling with different numbers. My question is are they legit from PETA? (Despite the verified symbols why the truecaller apps showing different?). 🤔
Note: I didn't wrote the words scammer, I got it from the Trucaller app).
@iamelijah If they were scammers, how would they know to disguise themselves as PETA? It's always wise to use caution when people call you, but this is probably just PETA asking for donations, which you should only give -- if any -- through their website.
{@ilovefood] you know what is the saddest part of this is these cruel scammers are denying animals help that they need but alas this in this day and age if you give person details on the internet there is a chance this can get into wrong hands
Could be PETA using phone banks. I'd contact them and tell them to stop. And to toss it out there? Giving your real number on things like that opens the door. I'd suggest not giving it out in the future unless it's really necessary. Sometime petitions aren't what they seem. It's more about fundraising. And it's not exclusive to PETA.
@iamelijah You might want to run a search for the number the next time they call. If it's PETA then email them and tell them to stop. If not, and scammers are calling your cell you might just need to block the numbers every time they call. Good luck.
