I've been denied the opportunity to work for a company based off my gender...

As a female in mechanics, I'm wondering if I should make shit easy for myself to have better opportunities by switching careers. That job would have helped substantially even though to them it was entry-level. I mean, now it's a matter of survival and there's no way to keep going on in this male-dominated field if I can't afford living expenses and just get denied repeatedly for career opportunities...based on my gender and not my skills.

How long have you been a mechanic for?

@justanothername I'm in mechanics but I'm not a certified mechanic. That company would've helped me get there though, as the initial recruiter said herself. But I've been in this field for a little over 2 years now.

@XReaganX How many mechanics jobs are available where you are?

I’d suggest backing yourself and getting yourself a lawyer. How long would you want to stay with the company after obtaining your apprenticeship certification?

@justanothername At the level I'm at, there's hardly any that offer full service work. That company offers to train you to do so much more than preventive maintenance. And I was really looking to become a lifer so I can grow and advance to something greater within. I've really wanted to work for them for a while now.
