Ah. This is precisely my feeling. But, not just anyone is allowed in. It has to be someone who will understand and not judge. That is hard when a mind is exposed. And they must have an equal mind that can be explored and cherished (yes, I seem to use that a lot, but it is a core feeling).

@SW-User I agree with you entirely.

It goes like this
Mind the foundation
Body physical intimacy love
Soul sprital intimacy you will do anything for your partner and vice versa the most important

Maybe I'm the only one that does understand.... I have been around long enough to understand..

@masterofyou: I think physical attraction is one thing. But to find that someone that you can trust well enough to be vulnerable with and to open up the door to all that you are...the good and the bad...the beauty and the darkness...and to know that that person won't run away, in fact he/she will love you more for it. that is a unique and rare type of intimacy.
thank you for understanding. :)

Great post. I can truly relate to this, especially what you wrote about understanding and not judging and letting people in.

@SW-User thank you. It resonated with me.

Well, everyone wants to be understood, while no one tries to understand others.

@Anonmason: many try. Psychologists and such. Plus, I do.

So do I. And I mean far deeper than the physical level. Few are interested in unfolding the layers. It has to be mutual. Those connections are so very hard to find.

I think that true intimacy is difficult for most men to understand.
