I Like Politics

This is not news. Hillary Clinton, talked about it, during the Presidential debates.

We already have 700 miles of fencing and "walls", alongside certain parts of the border.

The Bush administration, voted for the fence, and at the time, Senators Obama and Clinton voted for it. Here's what Obama said, at the time:

"Securing our borders will not solve the illegal immigration problem in isolation, but combined with an earned path to citizenship for the undocumented and new legal alternatives to unauthorized entry, some additional fencing could help get the border under control."

Trump, made it sound as if he invented borders. He did not. It is the responsibility of each country, to do what it does, too secure its borders, but a "huge, big, very, very beautiful wall", that's 50 feet tall, made of steel and concrete.

The previous plan for the "wall", included some limited, additional fencing, along with electronic measures, that will work better than an actual wall, due to:

1. The nature of the US-Mexico border geography, including the Rio Grande.

2. The fact that the US does not have a government-owned buffer zone, and that the entire swath of land, is privately owned.

Finally, the existing fence, was approved by Congress, and the money allocated by Congress, without creating a trade war in the process.

You don't seem to understand. Obama was the messiah. Trump is Hitler. That's all anyone needs to know. Reality is irrelevant.
