I am not given to despair, but there is no sign of hope in any likely outcome of the new Conservative leader election. When Boris Johnson is actually considered a serious contender after all his foolishness and incompetencies in both of the major offices he has held, I have to wonder if I am seeing the same country and problems as other people.
