I Have Random Thoughts Of Randomness

Why is a completed building not called a 'built'? 馃

The confusion comes from the fact that building can be both a noun and a verb. During the construction phase it is a verb, "The act of building" after completion it becomes the Noun. Escort is another word with such properties, You can escort someone to their seat (verb) or you can work as an "Escort" (noun) EP use to flag either of those uses because they thought it the noun.

@ZeroG: No it's not, that's why people say the phrase 'what a lovely buliding' no one I know has ever said 'what a lovely built'
SStarfish
when youre building it and its done you refer to it as bulit

other than that its refered to as a building

@ZeroG: Is it? Seriously I have never heard anyone refer to a completed building as a 'built', the closest I have heard is 'I have built this building' and therefore refering to the completed structure as a 'building'

Maybe I'm wrong. If so I do apologise for my ignorance
