I Loved Someone That Didn't Love Me

I was a fool.
Just silly words on a computer screen.
A high school kid could have seen through it.
But, I ate them up like candy after being so neglected and starved for affection.
I wanted to believe him, but it became obvious, even to me, he was just toying with my affections.
It did break my heart, at first, but now I am free and very glad to be so.
