Ah, but woe is me! For I cannot change these things, yet I still try.

I'm considering sending a message to someone, to tell someone else that I miss them. I can't contact that second person through any other method.

But I'm scared. I feel that I won't be well accepted. I don't know what to do. most of all, I feel that sending that message, in order to have such a trivial thing passed on will change nothing.

And I'm probably right.

..

I don't know what to do.

Send it. At least you won't have regrets that you could have tried something, and didn't.

You're anticipating a negative outcome. And, perhaps you're right. But if you never try, you won't ever know.

Do it.

If I were on the receiving end, I would at least appreciate the effort you made (unless you did something truly unacceptable, like beat me, shoot my kid, are a pedo, or gambled away all my money, or forwarded my sext to everyone you know... in which case you are never getting back into my good graces. I will forgive you, but never let you back into my life).

And if you don't mind a little advice, don't whine. Don't make excuses. If you have something to apologize for, be a man and do it from your heart.

Soft breezes to you and the very best of luck to you.

The "things you cannot change" are everything but yourself. Think about that for a moment and it's freeing in a way; you only have to be responsible for how you act. I think a good rule of thumb is to add goodness to the universe every chance you get. Send the message. People like knowing they're cared for and missed. You never know - it could be the one nice moment in that person's day.

Just remember, tell them because you want to share your affinity, not in expectation of anything else. Best of luck.

@windsylph @Dragongirlkas @Justpeaceandlove: Thank you, for taking the time to help out. I have indeed decided to send the message in question (after a few deep breaths, that is).

Thanks again, for reassuring me. It means more than you think.

You answered your own question. I don't think it would be a wise decision, and I think, if 'something' is meant to happen with the two of you, it will. Some times you have to be patient and wait for the right time.
