I Am Pregnant

I really expected to have my baby girl here by now, but she’s holding on in there. I took a small break from this site when everything was becoming a little bit too much for me. I was having contractions and the lockdown in my country was still a new concept for me to adapt to.

I told you all that I was in early slow-labour in mid-April. I was having irregular contractions and I lost my mucus-plug. These contractions continued into May and I had a few moments where they felt as though they were forming a pattern. On May 7th, they stopped. I spoke to my midwife and I was admitted to hospital as a precaution after feeling limited movements. Everything was clear and I was discharged on the same day. Since that day, I have had very few contractions.

I reach my 39th week on Tuesday and I’m so ready for her to be here. Everything is organised and prepared. Her father has been talking to me regularly now and I don’t know how I feel about that. If you know me and you’ve read my posts over the last few months, you’ll know that he hasn’t been involved at all up until this point.

The lockdown in my country is still in place, although we are now allowed to leave our houses for unlimited exercise. I still have no birth plan. My original plan was for a water-birth, but the hospital only has one pool available now and if it is in use when my baby decides she’s ready to see me, I lose that option.

Thanks to everyone who has asked how I am while I’ve been away. I needed some time away from social media to relax and focus on myself. I’m happy that things have settled down for me now. I have just days, maybe a week or so, until she’ll be here and I’m trying my best to make the most of that time.
