Part of it was covered by grants, but I had to take out loans, but for my third year, it turned out that I didn't take out enough loans, so my parents paid some of that year's expenses out-of-pocket. I just graduated and am looking for a job before the loan payments start coming in.

Scholarship.
I didn't have to pay for my associates degree. I qualified for pell grants and the community college I went to wasn't that expensive.
