Yes.
2 years ago I moved into a new city with no help. I didn't have a place to live as I had to report for work so I stayed in a hotel for a week.
It was the worst f****** week of my life because I went around looking for a place to live and found none. The ones I found were filthy or expensive.

They might give you a discount if you stay long term but they might cost you twelve hundred a month or even more if you don't get lucky. Two people would have to get along very well.
Yet since the long economic crash, going on a few decades now...poor people are increasingly pushed into these places because all their other supports have collapsed, and to get one paid by welfare, you have to be completely broke or some close equivalent. Zipppo bucks, not even a thing.
Puhleeeeze...
Terrible situation when they are lovely places 4 a mini micro vacation for a night or three..
as long as u can go "home" afterward.

@Elevatorpitches Airbnb would probably be a better option if it wasn't for COVID-19.

A week every month for about a year for work, tried to make the most of it by getting to know the city I was in...would be so hard under these conditions

Trying to get out of that situation now.
It eats up all your cash.

Nope. I rented a furnished condo for 3 months once.

Yes. I lost my home and lived in a motel for 3 months.
