Why exactly is divorce construed as a bad thing?

Why is marriage construed as a good thing?? I mean.. unless you are really really sure, don't do it, and certainly not for novelty reasons or you feel that's what expected of people.

Cause nobody seems to know what love is or be able to commit and or work out their problems. "oops the toilet paper is on wrong. We are through"

Because of the idea that people are letting their marriage fail. They are giving up on their partnership. I can agree this does sometimes happen, the work that the commitment takes is more than they prepared for. The reality can often be different than a dream. BUT I don’t think people should stay together just because of others opinions, they have kids, they rely on their spouse financially. Leaving marriage is expensive both in money and emotional energy. I don’t think divorce is often the first thought for any married couple. But sadly many do find themselves realizing they are unhappy together. I support people’s happiness when it is safe & wont cause serious harm to others. People can work through much in a marriages hard times but divorce can be the healthiest option for some. Each situation has different elements.

It's stressful as fuck, for one thing.
