Those weren't Jesus' words. It is also important to understand that he spoke through the stories and analogies that the people of that time would understand. If he wasn't the son of God then I would argue that he was bad, or at least a lunatic, because while people attribute more to him than they should, he did claim to be God. If he wasn't then he was evil and/or insane.

The Bible has a lot more in it than just stories about Jesus, more than half of it has nothing to do with Jesus. There is a lot more complexity as to the story of Adam and Eve and creation than I want to put in the comment of a post. That being said, the Bible doesn't say that people were the first creatures that God put on earth.
