Did you guys know this?

So my coworker who is black had her baby this morning...her husband is white. She sent pictures and I blurted out "the baby looks white!". I guess they take a few days to darken... how am I supposed to know these things? 😅

I didn't know that until I worked in the NICU and my black co-worker friends filled me in. I was told to look at the babies ears and that was a good indication of how dark the baby would be.

The skin colour can have huge variation on mixed race children from quite pale to almost black.

The baby could be white skinned.
Genetics can be very unpredictable.

I didn't look white as a baby and I'm mixed, but then again my mother was white and my father was black... I wonder if that has anything to do with it? 🤔
