What about little girls? Wearing only skirts seems unfair, since they would also be expected to be "modest" while playing.

That would mean no climbing on the monkey bars, no cartwheels, no headstands, etc.

I married a Christian husband who has this rule for me which I did (and sometimes do struggle with) but you shouldn't judge people just on one rule, he is very loving and caring and also strict.

@adelesmith That's your personal choice, though you hint at he being religious and you not; and you are free to leave him if his "coercive and controlling behaviour"* becomes unbearable.

However, although we who are lucky enough to live in nations that allow it are free to take up or abandon any religion we wish, that freedom also means that no-one should use religion to excuse thinking one person is inferior to and should be controlled by another, merely for having the opposite reproductive organs.

[*That is the phrase used in law, indeed, the name of the offence, though I realise you might live in a country yet to have a similar law. I assume you would still have the legal right to leave him though.]
