I Miss Someone I Never Met

To never to have returned in kind,
Remembering that lost moment in time, when one became blind,

Never seizing the moment, retreating to the silence of inaudible sound,
The girl with the special soul who was there but was never looking to be found,

If we could replay the day when somebody exposed their inner soul,
A soul we felt but were too afraid to touch, instead choosing the safety of the cold,

Not sure where she is now and if she is close to the light,
To reel somebody back in who has now taken flight,

Darkness now covers the shadows on the wall,
A broken feeling within a life of existence on stall,

Longing for that one moment in time where one didn't give into the fear and the worry,
Where matters of the heart and soul were clear yet one's actions weren't quite so blurry, why are people always in such a hurry,

Spending the rest of one's life trying to recapture a past moment in time,
To again find that soul who once was so unique and kind,

Just left with memories which wreck havoc each and every day,
Of that missed opportunity, of the girl with the deep soul who got away.... .... .... ....
