I Think the United States Should Switch to the Metric System

The legal definition of a yard is 0.9144 meters.

The legal definition of a foot is 0.3048 meters.

The legal definition of an inch is 25.4 millimeters.

The legal definition of a pound is that there are 2.20462234 pounds per kilogram.

The legal definition of an ounce is 28.349523125 grams.

You can see where I'm going with this. We're already using the metric system — we're just adding another layer of complexity on top of it, and so are using it badly.

Yeah, I know. I don't expect anything to change anytime soon. Maybe after the revolution.

the thing about the metric system is we already use it in our scientific fields and abroad, we just use our own system at home. It's like how all these countries teach English but still have their own languages for use in their country
