I Appreciate Honesty

It’s so difficult finding someone honest anymore. Especially online! And I don’t understand why? If you’re on a dating site, why be someone you’re not? Don’t you want someone to fall for you as YOU?

Yet, I keep trying! I know not everyone is like that. But... damn... there’s a lot of them lol

Honesty is a double edged sword but it shouldn't be too much to ask especially if you're dating someone, online or not.

One of the problems online is lack of accountability. People see it and maybe they want to experiment with their inner patterns in ways which are not conducive to the real world.

Weeding through that can definitely be a chore into itself, and that isn't even taking comparability or physical proximity into consideration.

Sometimes I think online dating is only good in concept. Sites over promise and under deliver, and it's not even the service provider's fault if people aren't genuine, it's just what they're going through, that you shouldn't have to.

I wish people could just be themselves.

I totally agree too many people hiding behind a mask these days

Being honest is good and sucks at the same time. I have been honest and it never got me anywhere

@TenderHeart I hope they do. I was honest to my ex and she accused me of cheating when I never did such thing.

@Beatbox34 sorry to hear :( I was honest with my ex and it made no difference.

@TenderHeart This is why I feel what if I was dishonest would it have worked out? Although I can't be like that but it's funny the more honest you are, the more shit we get to deal with
For a typical 1st date I always made it a point to show up in my old beater truck (clean, AC works great, but old with sun peeled rust spots). I would be dressed casually, take her out for a reasonably cheap date involving some form of physical activity (bowling was a favorite as it required several hours that you could converse and learn some things about each other... IE: No talking during the Movie so that is a bad choice.

If I got a second date I would know that there was a possibility she wasn't just interested in my tax return. But with the amount of information available on-line these days you never really know what they already know about you.

I couldn’t believe how many pictures are fake on those sites. One person use a thin blond picture. When I met her she was very heavy and brunette. She said it was the lighting..lol!

On line has taken the need to be truthful away..
Why shouldn't they lie to elevate themselves.
If men and women posting at online dating sites were honest about their looks, personalities interests and hobbies
No one would answer to them.
They have to lie.

Thats a cynical way of viewing things. I’m honest online. I get people messaging. Maybe not as much as I would if I added more spice and lied, but who wants responses to a lie?? Nobody HAS to lie.
@TenderHeart Years ago I met my husband through dating services.
He said fishing was his top hobby, guess what? his rod and reel look like something from colonial times. He hadn't fished in years, He lied to impress me. All I can say even little tiny lies can lead to big problems in the future especially if you think tiny white lies don't count.

Take advice from someone experienced in this field

Be careful

I know. I’ve been chatting online for years. I’m careful... and I’ve had my experiences too. Hence my rant there lol
