When I recently lost approx. 14lbs, everyone suddenly loved me..

Everyone thought I was gorgeous
Everyone thought I was powerful
I can assure you that being congratulated for weight loss just feels like your greatest fear confirmed.. you have to be thin to be valuable to the world!
It fvcking sucks!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Maybe they are congratulating you for being healthy, disciplined, and not obsessed with food.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@JosephineTheFox Peaches, plums, yogurt, milk, almond milk, blueberries, 70% dark chocolate.
@MarkPaul On my way.

I think some people just genuinely mean to congratulate others on accomplishing something they worked for but I get how it can seem that validation is conditioned by your weight (or how for some people it actually IS conditional) and can just as easily be taken away.
@EuphoricTurtle I need to surround myself with better people. I have let myself down over the last 18 months in that regard.
EuphoricTurtle · 41-45, M
@JosephineTheFox shitty people can be incredibly draining, and it seems that no matter how absurd their bullshit is, some part of it still seems to somehow seep through and let that smell get a hold of us. Time to flush! 😆
@EuphoricTurtle You're right. I intend to flush immediately. Well, after a cup of tea and a good sleep!

People were happy that you had done something to achieve a substantial goal, and encouraging your success. I'm sure you were just as attractive 14 lbs heavier....
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@JosephineTheFox that's fair. Not knowing your circle, I really have no right to add my two cents.....
@Notanymore Bollocks to that sweetie. If I didn't want your two cents (what exactly is that in real money?) then I wouldn't have ranted on the internet.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@JosephineTheFox fair play. But my comment was contrary to the point of your rant, whereas I generalized people based on my knowledge, opinions and experiences. And your retort considered your particular group of friends (which the original post implied) .
HypnoChode · 46-50, M
I’ve lost a bunch of weight in the past 8 months or so, and I enjoy the compliments. But I also fully understand what you’re saying too. It’s a tough thing to really take in as you think about the implications.
@HypnoChode I just wanted to be congratulated for something more meaningful. But I guess weight loss can be very meaningful to some..
As you like the compliments, well done X
Strongtea · 22-25, M
You must have looked a lot better though, 14lbs is a lot to lose. What did you look like before!
@Strongtea I was happy with the way I looked before and I had certainly had no complaints from gentlemen. I just happened to lose weight when I restarted running.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
But surely you look better now after losing all that weight@JosephineTheFox
@Strongtea To some people, maybe. To others, maybe not. Health and attractiveness is not necessarily determined by weight, hence my post.
JustNik · 51-55, F
No no no no. It’s just one of those efforts most everyone can relate to. You were beautiful and powerful when you had 14 extra pounds behind your punch, it was just harder to understand exactly what you were hitting. 🤗💞
@JustNik You're the best <3

{@josephinethefox] some peole are really tunnelled visioned . it is not about what you look like . it is not about lose weight makes you more attractive . it you the peron inside that isimportant and your personality
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
Sadly we live in a world where appearance matters too much and often results in snap judgements about a person.
I don't think that is a modern issue though it's been with us for centuries.
Coppercoil · M
What? 14 lbs got that effect? I guess one way girls get treated differently. I lost 60 and no one really seems to care.. but I feel great.
@Coppercoil If you feel great that's all that matters. And yes, I notice that women are treated much differently regarding weight loss.

Not true ... you are of value no matter your weight
@SW-User Try telling that to my friends 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was quite proud of my Covid-stone 😏
SW-User
@JosephineTheFox meh...if they are only your friends because of your weight, they aren't real friends
QuietEd2019 · 31-35, M
Ohh wow 😣 I am sure you were just as attractive with the 14lbs 🥰🥰🥰
QuietEd2019 · 31-35, M
@JosephineTheFox hope you’re doing okay ♥️ Always soo beautiful
TheotherAndy · 41-45, M
It’s a shit world we live in
TheLordOfHell · 41-45
Bah, I would have still liked you no matter what you weighed. Weight is not an issue. Tis what's inside!
@TheLordOfHell 'tis only because I started running again properly after using the pandemic as a perfect excuse not to exercise 🤦🏻‍♀️
TheLordOfHell · 41-45
@JosephineTheFox Haha yeah I can relate to that one. Maybe it's time for me to hit the treadmill. There is one sitting right there in the living room. I just need motivation, and good 80s Rocky Movie Training Music
@TheLordOfHell I once had one of those cross-trainer things that I used as a coat stand 😌
