I Enjoy the Works of William Shakespeare
At school studying English I hated Shakespeare as boring, [i]really[/i] old, overblown and without much sense.
soon as i left school one day when bored i idly picked up a copy of the [i]complete works[/i] we have at home and i suddenly realised I'd read the whole first act of [i]Love's Labour's Lost [/i]and hadn't stopped laughing.
The Bard is still old and overblown ofc but also brilliant, subtle, hilarious, and very moving. I just think his work (probably because they are so old) need time to sink in. Yes reading shakespeare or seeing a play is harder or more challenging than reading Harry Potter or going to see Guardians of the Galaxy...but sometimes its worth putting that effort in to appreciate something brilliant and remarkable.
