We have newts too. Our pond was out of the ground for two months but last year we had lots. Not the endangered ones though. @nevergiveup

Yes, I call them dragon flies. I wonder if there is a difference?@stound

@pennynoodles well... etymologically speaking, there is. they're in the same 'scale wing' family, but most damselflies tend to be substantially smaller than most dragonflies, dragons can't fold their wings in parallel like that, they always keep wings at 90 degrees to their bodies, but they're very similar in almost every other respect.

nice results, cool gear. are you actually using a micro/macro lens or is it a kit lens? I kinda wanna get some better macro lenses.

It wasn't the macro lens no. It was a 18 105 mm lens, just zoomed in. On auto too! @stound
