I Want to Be In a Healthy Loving Relationship

We usually tell ppl to leave an abusive relationship, however we need to tell them how to do so. I'm afriad to leave mine as im afraid my child grows up wo a father figure, I am holding on to hope that my bf will change, Im afraid I'll be cutting off a group of ppl that love my child. However he don't sleep w me, we don't communicate even when were on good terms and he has a lot of support from his friends.

Does your child really need an abusive father figure? If your child doesn't know, he or she will eventually. And meanwhile you are lonely and unhappy in this relationship.

Take care of yourself and provide a good example for your kids.

The relationship you have is what your child will base it's relationships off of. If your unhappy good chance your kid will be unhappy in the future

@trackman11 thank u, my plan is to talk to someone and get some support and then go tru w ending the relationship. If ppl only knew how he treats me..but he lies so much and come off as a victim.

@destinyfabulous sounds like you have a plan that's good. Please if you separate do so when he is away and don't tell him because more women are murdeted within 12 months of leaving. Have a friend or someone with you when leaving!

It is perfectly fine to stay in a relationship for the child! However if there is fighting or abuse separate unless he gets some counseling because that is bad for kids. But divorce can be very hard on kids too and expensive even if you are just living together and not married. Can you tell him what you need ? And Gather more support for yourself.
Also if you are going to leave have a safety plan and know where to go and plan it out so you have plenty of people around you and good resources. Talk to a counselor maybe to get some advice?

@Carazaa I plan to get support and ask him to go counseling...

Whatever you decide, the fact that you care that much about your son having a father figure indicates to me that you will make sure his needs are met. I grew up without a father and I wish my dad had chosen to be there. Even so, my mom made sure I had what I needed and always put her children first. If there is abuse, your son isn’t growing up with a father figure. A father figure shows his child a healthy relationship with the child’s mother. I hope you find peace in making the right decision.
