I Am a Dreamer and a Thinker

People with a highly developed prefrontal cortex ( intelligent people ) are at a higher risk of suffering from depression.
Doesn't it make depression a geek's disease.

Well, that makes sense actually. I am considered to have an above average IQ, and although it doesn't make sense to some, I have depression, if you read my story on I Battle Depression, then you will know how I work and am. This is all for real, because I've heard of people trolling about this serious stuff and I'm not one of those people.

I know . I have gone through similar stuff at your age. Its one of those coming of age issues. For some it is tougher .

For me it's been more, but I'm still alive. I know someone wants me alive, even if it's just one, it's enough.

Having a higher purpose in life helps. Material pursuits are too exhausting for the spirit.

Generally if you live in society as a normal person and think "too much", you'll get depressed...

Yeah I agree. Maybe some kind of tough mental practices can destroy the ego.

I think persistance and repetition more than force is the key. Although, alternatively some intense shock encounter might do the trick, like close-to-death experience or something like that. This seems harder to organize though o-o, not to mention scary and uncomfortable. The second method most likely is close to impossible without some kind of teacher, or random luck.

I saw a video on YouTube in which a psychiatrist describes how people who have a near death experience seem to evolve to become better humans . Its almost as if their whole mental make begins to change. Maybe there is something in that . Saints and philosophers must go through some such experience.

nope... intelligent people often find a way out of it too.

Yes.But only with scars .

A friend who is a cognitive scientist said so. Maybe it depends on our sensitivity to their environment.

I didn't know that statistic where did you learn that from ?
