Price of gas is still over $3.10 a gallon [I Hate Gas Prices]

What's the forecast on gas prices? Still going to stay super expensive? I'm on the east coast USA.

With the slightest blip in the supply chain, prices soar .... and they take a long time to come back down ... what's up with that ??

@AllAboutLaffs I think it's price gouging. There's a gas station about 3 minutes from me and their gas for a while was like $0.30 more than all the other gas stations in town. Because whatever they're doing down there, they are definitely price gouging.

All these other places, I have no clue why gas is still so high. Back in May gas was $2.96 a gallon, now it's at $3.15. the receipt shows $3.12 because I used my card at the pump gives you 3 cents off a gallon.

@twiigss I suspect that they take advantage of every opportunity .... and thanks for BC

Yes, up up up, the administration hates itself and what it's done to U.S. but has no clue how to properly correct the course.

@checkoutanytime I can understand that.. :)

@walabby The problem is that prices would fluctuate around $2.59 on the low end to about $2.89 on the high end. Then the lockdowns hit and gas dropped to about $2.20 here locally. When people got back on the roads, gas went back up to $2.60 - $2.70.

Then that pipeline thing went down, and in late May 2021, gas was at $2.96 locally. For the last month now gas has been at $3.19 on the high end to $3.14 on the low end. The pipeline thing from what others have wrote on here is that it's fixed now.

But the price of gas is still where it was. I'm just leading to believe it's price gouging.

@twiigss Could be, but could also be a result of supply and demand...

I love how no one wants to complain that biden has raised the price of gas all you hear is excuses for why they were so high under Obama they give credit to Obama for why they were so low under Trump and probably blame Trump for why they’ve been so high under biden. For the last two years though I’ve been saying I a Democrat in office so prices would go up and my touristy town would get less busy and crowded

It won't come down anytime soon. The July 4th holiday travel season is just around the corner and it will stay up until after that.

@Shannon27 I don't think gas will ever be below $3.00 again. All these issues were their reason for raising gas prices.

They've been wanting to raise gas prices like this for the last 20 years, now they have all the excuses they want for doing so.

@twiigss The time for gasoline powered vehicles is also getting shorter. With more electric vehicles being produced the demand for gasoline is less thus the companies that sell it are trying to make as much as they can.

@Shannon27 Until electric manufacturers can figure out how to charge a car in a reasonable amount of time, I just don't see them being feasible. Maybe if it's a hybrid car, but they still need gas.

I think gas power will always be at the forefront.

We are paying almost that much for a litre!
walabby · 61-69, M
@novaguy2u Those poor Americans.. Having to pay US$0.80 per liter! 😭

@walabby They don't know they're alive!
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
It's not expensive, so much as back to normal.
walabby · 61-69, M
That's about half the price of gas in Europe.
48Thrills · 51-55, M
UK $1.85 a LITRE... poor you.
walabby · 61-69, M
@48Thrills Multiply that by 4 to get it to US gallons!
