Gasoline is cheaper than bottled water. Fossil fuel is an absolute necessity during these frigid sub zero temperatures...nothing to complain about really, people should be thankful the industry functions so efficiently. Price gouging is illegal and you should report the business.
@asslover699 It's a necessity because big oil, and their governmental cohorts, have made it that way. ZERO doubt that renewables could completely supplant fossil fuels, irrespective of location or weather.
@Ynotisay It's not economical yet, as fossil fuel becomes more scarce the price will rise and the market will work. Government intervention is usually disastrous!

The problem there is that it appears new drilling is, irrespective of the damage, is being pushed like hell by this administration. The other industrialized nations are moving in the other direction. They'll win. We'll lose.

Wind doesn't have the density; solar is improving but tiny; hydrogen fuel cell will take 40-50 years to perfect; ethanol is a net negative; and most EVs are currently being charged with electric generated by coal; nat gas and nukes, but some douchebags love hating big oil.
