I Have Weird Dreams
I'm trying to remember as much detail of this one as I can...such a weird one!
So my GF and I go to the movies to see an M. Knight Shaymalan movie called 'White Out'. The movie begins and suddenly I find myself in the movie as a live observer. The first scene is in an upscale bar...bartender in a tuxedo minus the jacket, crystal lights chandeliers dimly lighting the place, white table clothes on small round tables with a small candle in the center of each. A man at the bar is seated right of two women and he's attempting to impress the nearest one by talking about he experiments in something called a diminishing expanse loop in which a section of time can be looped back on itself. The girl is unimpressed and leaves, so he begins again with the next woman who laughs and says Yes, yes...diminishing expanse loop...I heard you. Except that in a diminishing loop the events play back as a copy of a copy loosing definition with each loop so that eventually the entire event is whited out.
Then I'm in a new scene outside behind an open moving truck with a man unloading furniture while is lightly snows. A boy of about 10 is standing on the sidewalk holding a rose that's twice the size of a normal one and it has a white stripe down one petal. The man comments on the stripe saying "Say, is that rose fading out a bit, kid?" The scene replays, this time with everything muted in color, and the skin of both the boy and the man are white. The scene replays again with everything overly whited and just a few scant black lines giving faint indications of outlines of objects. The scene fades away and I'm in a new scene.
This time I'm in the scientist's lab and he's realized his diminishing loop as escaped the bounds of his experiments and the world in in danger of having every portion of history and future looped and erased. He's fighting time to find the right frequency on his laptop, which looks over contrasted and bright, to break the loops, but he himself is caught in one and he is eventually erased. I realize that there are more people around me watching the scenes play out but whom are not a part of the movie. We seem aware of each other but unable to interact.
A new scene begins...the people of the world are each caught in the own loops and everything is beginning to be whited out. In every loop event there is one object that fades first is a brighter than it should be and there is one person watching the events, a friend or relative of the person being looped, who can only watch while the worried look on their face suggests they would desperately love to help if they were able.
The scene ends, and I'm once again walking into the theater with my GF to watch the movie, and as we sit down I see my popcorn is over contrasted and glowing and I realize that in fact I'm the one caught in the loop.
