All That Heaven Allows

This was the first Criterion dual format i got ever, and tonight is the first time seeing this classic Douglas Sirk melodrama in high definition. This film was important to Fassbinder, which is mainly why it's important to me, Rainer's Ali: Fear Eats the Soul takes the idea of a romantic mismatch that society can't accept further, as Sirk's vision wouldn't be shocking after the 50's. This is still a wondrous evocation of 50's Americana, i wish to have more Sirk on Blu-ray, of what i've seen i think i like Written on the Wind more, but whatcha gonna do!
