I Love Films

Le Tempestaire - Jean Epstein, my thoughts are drawn to horror recently and i want to call attention to older stuff that may need more attention than they currently do, this little gem has such a delicious flavour of what horror is about, a subtle sense of unease, spookiness. Epstein directed one of the great silent horror films too based on Edgar Allan Poe - The Fall of the House of Usher.

In other films i am reminded of the need to get Zulawski's Diabeł

And Tetsuo The Iron Man

The Golem from 1920, an inspiration for Frankenstein i believe

And from 1911, L'Inferno, i heard of this through Kenneth Anger's commentary for Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome, (((one of my top films of all time))), in that he used parts of this as a backdrop .... and as i see the beginning of it i go ahhhhh, this is what i like better than scary movies, trees, nature, an autumnal mood, of just meandering head in the clouds amidst gloomy weather ....:)
