I Hate It When Someone Doesnt Text Back

Well, people will be waiting quite a while if they're waiting for me to text them back. I don't text. I don't have a smartphone. Don't want one, although they do have great cameras and the photos look terrific.
I'm one of those people who still has a flip phone. I can receive texts, as I do sometimes from my kids. But sending them, NO. Now I will admit I have sent an OK, a YES, or a time, but a message, NO.

I don't like smartphones. I rarely text using my old flip-style phone. People say they like text because of the 'immediate' response. Isn't answering a phone actually quicker in terms of response? One side benefit of never texting is that on the off chance I do, people know it must be important.

Sadly, I may be forced into a smart phone because many of the services around me (parking, commuter rail) actually charge more if not using the smartphone apps for payments.

But like I said, I don't need any of that. I'm almost 70 years old. To me, a phone (even a cellphone) is for talking to people. I have no desire to get online or play games or use any of those other apps that you can get for the smartphones. And I think it's silly to watch a movie on one of those instead of in my den.
If I was out camping or something like that, it might be different. But from what I've been told, I probably wouldn't get reception.

That's great Kuminme. My daughters, have their lives on their smartphones, and so do my grandkids, who happen to be your age. They are great and handy but not something I need.
