How did you come to the decision to break up with your ex? [I Hate Break Ups]

I discovered he was engaged to someone else

He cheated on me with people I knew. So I lost friends as well. We had a long talk (argument) and he wanted me to admit who I cheated on him with. I could not answer that because I never cheated.
It was then I realized the marriage was a lie. He never believed a word I said. I told him it was over. A few days later he thought it would all blow over. He was shocked when I moved out a week later.

He was very abusive and I was so depressed I literally wanted to kill myself

I even had the thought “if I knew I had to be with him for another 30 years I would kill myself right now.”

And I took a good look at my life and thought about how confused people would be if I killed myself because I have a good life, kids, make good money, have a good job. And I’m going to ruin it all for human garbage? Na

When I went to a friends wedding abroad and he gave a speech where he mentioned that she had been by his side in good and bad times. I instantly realized that I did not have that. In my relationship, if my good times did not include her or were because of her (having caught amazing waves, a job promotion) I had to play them down or else she would get insecure and say that I was never that happy in relation with anything to do with her.

That stuck with me, I flew back the next day and we broke up.

I arrived at the conclusion that he was an absolute dick. 🤷‍♀️

It became intolerable

They said that we needed to talk... and asked for a bit of a break... I told them hell no and broke up with them on the spot.

She broke up with me. Tbh I'm glad she did. When she came back crawling, I told her to go back to her hole.

Lots of sleepless nights, losing myself, having a hard time finding any joy in life for a really long time. It's not something done easily or in a moment of frustrations. At the end I spent two days overthinking it and was trying to keep up hopes to have a sign for something positive that might have kept us together, being able to continue.

When his issues were triggering mine too much.

I didn't... We just moved on .. Nothing is forever.. People change there is always something better around the corner...

When I realized, in the worst case I would rather be alone for the rest of my life than be married to her.

In both cases it was just an explosion of fighting, emotion and craziness.

I wasn’t fully happy and I felt like she needed more than I was ready for at the time

I killed her. I cut her brake line and she crashed the car.

I won the lottery and asked her if I give her half would she grant me a divorce. She said yes so I went down cashed the $1 winner and gave her 50. Cents. Cheapest divorce yet!lol

She left and stopped answering my phone calls
