I Am An Atheist

now i honestly dont care what you believe in, so dont take offence in what im about to say.

why do the religious door to door salesmen who try forcing religion on people keep trying on me?!? they do it so often that they not only know me by name but when im most likely to be home. they know im a atheist and that i cant stand the concept of a god.

seriously its pissing me off now. im not become a morman or catholic as i dont believe in their imaginary friend.

I posted a story about my mother, who was a militant member of the old CPUSA. She was a powerful and scary woman but she did have her moments.

The Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on her door. She answered.

JH: Good morning, Ma'am. Do you know God?

Mom: No! Do you?

JH: Yes, we do.

Mom: Good. Then tell God when he feeds all the starving children in the world, we can talk!

Door closed quickly and firmly.

It might sound stupid but put up no trespassing sign on your property where it's clearly seen if they still come up to bother you you can call the police and get them charged with trespassing.

Don't you get it...? You are a conquest. If they can win you over, do you realize what a big pay-off that would be for them? They aren't going to give up easy... and the more resistant you seem, the more enticing you become to them. It's the way human nature works and not just for religious purposes.

@frankietime: You can't do that... the religious salesman want their commission... you can't leave them out in the cold... you wouldn't....

@frankietime: Yeah, but it's not fair... and what if they saran wrap your car or toilet paper your house... or start protesting?

They're obviously too stupid or mentally deranged to understand you're not interested in their delusions.

I don't know what jurisdiction you're in but there might be laws to protect from those nutters. In the UK, the Prevention of Harassment Act 1997 might provide a remedy.

@waleskinder: The problem is, you don't know it's those nutters until you open the door. Why should people be harassed in their own homes anyway?
