I Am An Atheist

This isn't the most exciting of stories, but I want to rant a little bit. So scroll along.

Last Sunday my father woke me up early so I could attend his church- I thought we had an unspoken agreement that after I turned eighteen I was done with that mess, but nah. Long story short, I ended up going.

In the meeting, a family wanted their newborn daughter to be blessed. So, the father and some other dudes went up, circled the baby, and began their prayer. Summed up, it was, "May she get a testimony, find a man of the church, get married in the temple, and have children."

I dunno. It kind of sucks to grow up being told that that's your purpose in life.

The end of religion is mere generations away. Here in Australia I think it is in it's final generation, not many go to church these days and certainly few young people.

Yes, I think there will be something to replace religion but I don't imagine it will involve churches or a belief in God. You can't call it a religion then since the definition of a religion is a belief in a God or Gods. But yeah, there will be something.

I distrust beliefs that work on wishing power. God wishes us into existence. We wish to receive what God is said able to upon us. So unscientific!

Half the people who attend are probably atheists too, it's like a social club and no more than that.

Disagree, Mark. The new age of religion is soon upon us. It will not include God and magic.
