I Am An Atheist

I realized at a young age that everything I was being taught in church hinged on the fear of suffering. Salvation was the carrot, Damnation the stick. Trying to talk about this with my family just got them angry. They dug in their heels, and so did I.

I'm not militant about it. That being said, if people want me to believe in what they believe, they are going to need a lot more than a really old book to do it.

I realised it just last week that religion is all about keeping us in check and prayers are all about begging and feeling guilty; which is why I try to think for myself now
@SW-User It's good to think for yourself. It's bad to assume that about religions though. Like do all religions keep you in check or make you feel guilty? And why do they do that to you? Seems like if you are feeling guilty it might be because you wanna do something you know you shouldn't. Just a thought

@Qwerty14 How presumptuous of you, by guilt I meant that religions are all about “obeying” a higher power and not thinking for yourself

@SW-User Is that why Christianity is based on the concept of free will?

You really have no idea what you are talking about,

@Abrienda “free will” 😂😂😂

@SW-User Lol of course I'm presuming. You make a statement so probability says that statement is the case. Saying "keeping us in check" instead of being more general makes it sound like you are talking about your personal experience and not those of others.
@ISpeakTheTruth Governments don't want religion to influence the people. That's why left wing nations almost always have a lower religious rate

@SW-User Yes...the will to choose right or wrong. You see? You haven't even heard nor understand the concept which is the fundamental underpinning of all three Abrahamic religions but mist especially Christianity,...instead you laugh like the ignorant jackass you are. Yet in your ignorance you presume to have something insightful to tell others people about religion.

Enjoy wallowing in your childish stupidity because to any educated person that's is exactly what you are now doing.

@SW-User There are few things more disgusting or embarrassing than someone proud ignorance. That describes you. Try learning about the fundamental concepts of Christianity or any religion before attacking them or else you will continue to embarrass yourself as a pompous know-nothing.

@Abrienda is there any more verbal diarrhoea on the way? I’m bored, next please
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@SW-User What a wit! Took you long to think of that comeback, did it? Or are you typing your responses from a public toilet and saw it there?

Yes the truth is boring to someone as stupid and proud of her lack of fundamental knowledge as you. Enjoy yourself.

Done.

@Abrienda Lmao say what you want but you’re the one getting your panties in a twist over a response on an anon site 😂
@SW-User Lol looks like you just wanted to comment without question. You understand this is a forum site? The point is discourse
