Have you ever been in a hurricane? [I Have Survived a Hurricane]

Major or minor?
I was in Category 5 hurricane. It made landfall about thirty miles from my house. The brunt of the storm lasted about one hundred minutes. We were without water for five days and without power for three weeks.

Hurricane George in Mobile in 1998. I think it was a cat 2. It wasn’t bad just lots of rain, minor flooding and some intermittent power outages. I feel like it wasn’t really much worse than some of the severe thunderstorms we get each year in the southeast.

I've been in several hurricanes, three major, but never a cat 5. They are a part of life on the Texas Gulf Coast.

Yes, Hurricane Sandy in 2012 being the most recent one to reach New York as a hurricane.
