Losing a loyal pet hurts like losing a family member I had a black lab I layed beside him and petted his head before he died he was holding on for me as long as he could and I knew it I told him it was ok to go and I stayed with him till he passed it was one of the hardest things I have ever done but I couldnt stand to have the vet put him down cause if I did that I would feel like I gave up on him I just couldn't do that

@GoldButterfly Both had to be put to sleep at different times. Angel (black and white border collie/lab mix) I had 2004-2013, she was almost 12 and had bone cancer in her front leg. Gizmo (brown Jack Russell mix) I had 2005-this June. He was 16 years old and could barely walk anymore, his lower back and back legs kept giving out and he was in terrible pain. They used to play and wrestle with each other all the time when they were younger.

@travelguy01 I am sorry for the loss of your friends. They both look like very nice doggies.
